Ask any Jacksonville local where they live and San Marco always comes up. Just a hop, skip, and a jump from the river and downtown, this neighborhood is known for historic homes, walkable streets, and a busy town square. Bungalows and early 1900s houses line shaded streets with front porches and large oak trees. San Marco mixes old Florida charm with a thriving food, drink, and social scene — and it stays busy from morning coffee to late-night cocktails. Major hospitals like Baptist Medical Center are close by, making it a top choice for professionals who want a short commute without sacrificing neighborhood character.
